This notice is also based on Recommendation no. 2/2001, which the European Data Protection Authorities, gathered in the Group established by Article 29 of Directive 95/46/EC, adopted on May 17, 2001, to identify certain minimum requirements for the collection of personal data online, particularly the methods, timing, and nature of the information that data controllers must provide to users when they visit web pages, regardless of the purpose of the connection.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send and store on their device, to then be re-sent to the same sites upon the next visit. Thanks to cookies, a website remembers the user's actions and preferences so they do not have to be re-entered every time the user visits the site or navigates from one page to another. Cookies can therefore be used for computer authentication, session tracking, and storing information regarding the activities of users who access a site. They may also contain a unique identifier code that allows tracking of user activity within the site for statistical or advertising purposes.

While browsing a site, users may also receive cookies on their device from websites or web servers other than the one they are visiting (so-called “third-party” cookies). Some operations would not be possible without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the operation of the site.

Types of Cookies

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and they can remain on the user’s device for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain on the device until a set expiration date.

Under current Italian law, user consent is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, so-called "technical" cookies—used solely to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user—do not require consent. These are essential cookies for the proper functioning of the site or necessary for performing user-requested activities.

Among technical cookies, which do not require prior consent, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see Provision “Identification of simplified procedures for information and obtaining consent for the use of cookies - May 8, 2014”) includes:

  • Analytics cookies, when used directly by the site manager to collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they visit the site.

  • Navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the website (for example, to make a purchase or log in to restricted areas).

  • Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (e.g., language, selected products for purchase) to improve the service provided.

For profiling cookies, i.e., those aimed at creating user profiles to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown during browsing, the user’s prior consent is required.

What Types of Cookies This Site Uses

This site uses:

  • Technical cookies, such as navigation or session cookies, strictly necessary for the operation of the site or for allowing the user to access requested content and services.

  • Analytics cookies, used to understand how users interact with the site. These cookies do not collect information that identifies users nor personal data. Information is processed in aggregate and anonymous form.

  • Functionality cookies, which allow navigation based on selected criteria (such as language or selected products), to improve the service provided.

  • Third-party cookies, i.e., cookies from websites or web servers other than this one, used for the purposes of those third parties.

For further information on the processing of personal data pursuant to Art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 – Privacy Code, please refer to the site’s Privacy Policy.

How to Manage Cookies with Major Browsers

Users can allow, block, or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the settings of their browser. However, disabling all or some cookies may make the website unusable, cause certain services or functions to be unavailable or malfunctioning, and/or require the user to manually enter information or preferences each time they visit the site.

For more information on managing cookie preferences through your browser, see the links below:

Third-Party Cookies Used by This Site

Third-party profiling cookies are used to create user profiles and show ads aligned with their preferences. These are from sites or servers other than this one and are managed by third parties. We do not have control over these cookies. For detailed information and to give specific consent, refer directly to the respective third parties.

Users can generally disable third-party cookies through their browser settings. More tools and information can be found at: www.youronlinechoices.com.

Facebook
This site may use Facebook cookies.

Advertising, insights and measurement: Cookies and similar technologies (e.g., device info or web pixels) help understand and choose which ads to show, analyze product and service usage, and optimize performance. For example, cookies allow Facebook and its partners to show ads relevant to you on Facebook services or other websites and apps. Facebook may also use cookies to understand if someone who saw an ad later made a purchase or installed an advertised app. Advertisers and partners may use cookies to track ad performance or user interactions.

Facebook may use cookies to provide data to advertisers on user behavior and interaction with their ads, sites, and apps.

Google AdWords
Google AdWords is an advertising service by Google Inc. that may install cookies to measure campaign conversions and enable remarketing.

Remarketing: This feature allows reaching users who previously visited the site with ads shown on other Google Display Network sites. Remarketing helps target the right users with the right message, encouraging them to return and complete a purchase.

Some site pages include a "remarketing code" to identify the type of ad based on user navigation and actions. Remarketing lists are stored on Google’s servers using cookie IDs, which identify only the browser and not the individual user.
